This is about all I could piece together from the Big Red Hotline. Not
surprisingly, it is completely CORNcentric.

Score by periods:

MSU Spartans 3 1 5 - 9
CORN Big Red 1 2 1 - 4

Cornell goals: Geoff Lopatka; Tyler McManus (pp), McManus (pp); Steve Wilson
(pp)

Cornell was 3 x 9 on powerplay. (Can anyone remember the last time Cornell had
three powerplay goals in one game?)

Jason Elliott allowed all 9 goals, and had 45 saves.

There were A LOT of penalties.

Nobody expected Cornell to win this game, and... they didn't.

Michigan State built a 3-0 lead before Lopatka scored late in the first period.
The Big Red had a strong second period, posting 17 shots, and actually tied
the game with McManus' pair of ppg before the Spartans scored late in the
second. MSU then ripped off 4 straight goals in the third before Wilson gave
the Red their third ppg (and yet another goal from the productive CU blueline
corps). The Spartans then wrapped up the scoring.

Cornell plays Michigan Tech tonight in the consy. Last night's game was not
carried on Teamline, which historically screws up tournament games.
