Wisconsin captured the Championship of the Badger Hockey Showdown for the 5th time in the 6 year history of this tourney. The final was UW 6, LSSU 4. The game was close all the way, with the Badgers nursing a 2-goal lead late in the third until a penalty allowed the Lakers to close to 5-4. A breakaway goal by Scott Sanderson at 19:11 iced the win. The game was close despite the Badgers having a lopsided edge in Shots On Goal. At one point late in the second, the margin was 40:20. Final totals were 48:37.
