in Denver today:

Brown 10 - Air Force 1
Only heard the score on that one.

Denver 5 - Ohio State 3
I was able to watch this game on tv. OSU certainly gave DU a scare tonight,
especially considering they hadn't really skated in over 2 weeks. OSU got
on the board first early in the game when Holmes slid the puck between
Mullin's legs. DU evened it up with about 5 minutes to go in the first
with an unassisted goal by Ortiz from just inside the blue line (reminding
me of some of Kent Fearns' shots). No scoring in the second. In the
third, DU briefly took the lead when Warren Smith put the puck in while
he was still down on the ice, but OSU's Brent immediately retaliated to
tie it up again. OSU later regained the lead on a goal by Dufour, but that
lead was also short lived, as DU's Laaksonen tied it up at 3. The game
winner for DU was a power play goal scored by Kenady with about 2:30 left
in the game. OSU pulled Askey with about a minute left, but it didn't
really help them, and Ricci got an empty net goal 30 seconds later. Not
too many penalties tonight, the only major one a 10 minute misconduct given
to Brent after something he said to the officials when he was called for a
minor. Referees for tonight were Boche and Adam. Didn't catch the linesman's
name.

Tomorrow night, Brown and Denver in the championship game.
