BU's main rival is, and probably will be no matter what the records of the respective teams, BC. The prior comparison of the BU-Cornell rivalry (I presume the early 70's) is comparable to the current BU-Maine rivalry. It stems from being in the same league, and both teams being very good--I'll leave the comparisons to others. This is the difference between traditional rivalries like BC-BU and contemporary rivalries like BU-Maine which derive their intensity from the current situation and quality of the teams.
