Tonight at the Carmel Ice Skadium in that north suburb of Indy, the IU hockey club will begin a two-game set with Purdue. These games are key for the Hoosiers as they try to position themselves for a berth in the ACHA tournament, as well as retain their lead in the MCHL. Tonight's game is at 10:45, while they lock horns tomorrow at 10:15. IU will be fighting w/o captain Bryan Lore, who sprained an elbow and will be out until mid-January. Fortunately, after this weekend, the Hoosiers don't play until mid-January. Lore has 17 points on 9 goals and 8 assists so far this season. The Hoosiers should have no trouble picking up the slack for Lore, as RW Jim Viscardi has 12 points on the year, as does Chris Quimby. Geoff Heddle has produced from the point, scoring 3 goals and adding 7 assists. IU swept Purdue last year in Bloomington, 9-2 and 8-3.
