Clarkson destroyed Princeton 11-2 tonight in Potsdam. Clarkson got on the board early on a Jean-Francois Houle short handed breakaway goal. Princeton tied it later in the first on a breakaway of its own. Late in the first, Clarkson made it 2-1 and a few seconds later, a pass from one Princeton player went off the skate of another and behind PU goalie James Konte for a 3-1 Clarkson lead. In the second, Houle got another short-handed goal to make it 4-1. After another Clarkson goal (sorry about forgetting the names but there were obviously quite a few), defenseman Adam Wiesel converted on a centering pass for a 6-1 Clarkson lead. Wiesel made it 7-1 right off a faceoff after a PU penalty was called. Princeton scored late in the 2nd as JP O'Connor (?) wristed a rebound past Clarkson goalie Dan Murphy. Clarkson scored 4 more goals in the third period including a sensational individual effort by defenseman (at least that's what it says in the program :) Brian Mueller. In the game, winger Patrice Robitaille got a hat trick. I think the shots were ~43-32 for Clarkson. Princeton looked *really* bad. Their offense couldn't get it going and their defense didn't look very good either. Konte and his 3rd period replacement didn't have much of a chance on most of the goals. Clarkson was hopping on rebounds all over the place and just annihilated the Tigers physically. The score was indeed reflective of the tenor of the game. THREE STARS (tough call) 1) Patrice Robitaille, Clarkson 2) JF Houle, Clarkson 3) Adam Wiesel/Claude Morin, Clarkson Wiesel looked as good offensively as I've ever seen him. Later in the game, he was doing some Mueller-esque rushes. Clarkson hopes that Yale, who beat St Lawrence 3-2 tonight in Canton, will be the victim in their 1000th career win. Unless Clarkson loses something like 60 in a row, they will reach 1000 wins faster than any other school in Division I history. --- Bri Farenell [log in to unmask] --- --- Glens Falls HS '91 Clarkson University '95 --- --- FINGER THIS ACCOUNT FOR ITALIAN AND MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER STANDINGS --- --- The United States already has term limits: they're called "voters." --- --- AHL guru for the Internet, etc: Hey, at least *WE* are still playing --- --- Go Adirondack Red Wings (AHL)! | Forza Lazio, Napoli!
