Commentary:

LSSU dominated MTU the first period. During the second period,
LSSU and MTU were even with the exception of the number of
penalties. The third belonged to MTU. The OT was heavily
influenced by the penalty but I am biased and
give that to MTU also.

Lake State really gave MTU a lesson in shooting the puck.
Fortunately Luciano Caravaggio gave MTU a superb performance.
(Who was that goalie from Tech last year that every one talked
about?) All of LSSU goals came on power plays. All of MTU
scores came from Freshmen. The only non-power play goal
of the game came from MTU's fourth line. MTU was forced to
play short handed 14 times during the game. To give up only
two goals to a team of the skill and stature of Lake State
is a victory in itself.

I suggest that our upper classmen (the Mikesch's, the
Peterson's, Furguson, Hanchuk, Garvey and Wright) tonight
pointed the way to the Freshmen on how to play the game,
especially during the short handed plays. While it was
Freshmen who scored, clearly, our few upper classmen
provided the leadership tonight.

Now let us get on with WCHA action with Denver Friday.
