From the Sunday Chicago Tribune (reprinted w/o permission): YOUNG TALENT: Sutter kept three junior players and college graduate Mike Pomichter when he trimmed his roster last week, but he told all four youngsters "They're day to day and game to game. We want to see exactly what these kids can add to our game. If they can play, it would certainly make us a bigger team." The three junior players are Eric Daze, 4th-round pick in 1993, Eric Lecompte, 1st-round pick in '93, and Ethan Moreau, this year's top choice. (snip, talking about the jr. players) But Sutter warned not to overlook Pomichter, the Boston University Grad who scored 28 goals in 40 games last season. "Pomichter's turning pro at the same time Tomy Amonte did, and he has similar numbers," says Sutter. "Yes, I like what I see. If I didn't, he wouldn't be here." ********************************* Elsewhere in the transaction agate, Lecompte was sent back down. Some inaccuracies in the article...they say twice that Pomichter was a college grad, but then sutter says he came out the same time as Amonte, who went pro as a soph. Very weird. Greg
