According to tonight's Ithaca Journal (one step up from reading tea
leaves), two of Cornell's three incoming recruits were taken in the NHL
draft.

Center Ryan Smart of Meadville, PA, was taken in the sixth round by the New
Jersey Devils (one of whose scouts is former Cornell head coach Lou
Reycroft).

Goalie Jason Elliot of Australia was taken by the Detroit Red Wings in the
eighth round. According to the Journal, "Elliot is a Toronto native but
living currently in British Columbia." I guess he gets around.
