the boston globe today speculated that coach york's salary at bc would
average around $130,000 per. although york's credentials appear to be
outstanding, i was a little surprised that his base salary would be so
near the level of o'brien's (the bc hoops coach).
do college hockey coaches get 'other monies' similar to shoe deals or
summer camps of their hardcourt counterparts? how does york's 130k
compare to the salaries of coaches at other so-called premiere college
hockey programs? does anyone know ballpark figures for the base salaries
of parker at bu or walsh at maine or tomassoni at harvard? how about the
big men behind the bench out west? were umass-lowell's crowder's contract
terms ever disclosed?

p.s. show me someone holding their breath for either bavis to make it to
     nhl...
though i am very appreciative for all mark and mike contributed to the
bu hockey program and i wish them well in all their future exploits, i
personally have never given either a serious thought of pulling on an
nhl sweater since their bu careers ended.
