The key to getting UAF in was scheduling the 5 trips to Fairbanks each year. (The rest of the schedule will look pretty much like before when Kent was the 11th team.) The schools were able to come up with several (more than 5) good dates for a team to go up north and not miss any class time. Prime times for going to UAF will be: Christmas and Thanksgiving breaks, spring breaks, and mid-semester breaks. Specifically, Michigan and MSU both have February spring breaks, so they might alternate going to UAF each year at that time. OSU usually has exams early in December, so they could go north the following week. Miami usually has mid-semester breaks--guess when they will be going? Without the assurances from the CCHA that the trips to UAF will not mean missed class time, the Nanooks would not have been admitted into the CCHA as a full member.
