Don't know about Masterson, but I think Berenson *did* predate Dryden.  Dryden
came in in the early seventies, maybe around '72, stealing a Cup from the
Broons.  I think Berensen was playing in the late sixties, about the time the
NHL expanded from six to twelve teams.  I wouldn't bet the ranch on it, though.
I'm going on faded memories of a little kid reading books about Berenson, the
Plager brothers, and all...
