In HE tonight, BU beat UNH on the road, 5-2.

I've updated the archives with tonight's two scores (BU 5 UNH 2, Miami
5 BG 2).

A brief look at the HE playoff picture, not taking into account any
possible additional Maine forfeits. I can't guarantee this is 100%
correct but I welcome corrections.

3 positions are set: BU 1, Mass Lowell 2, Merrimack 8.

4 teams are still contending for the last two playoff spots:
Northeastern, UNH, Providence, and Maine. NU & UNH control their own
destiny. NU can gain home ice by tying or beating BC Friday. UNH can
gain home ice by beating Maine Friday. Otherwise, both teams need
help. BC cannot gain home ice because they lose the tiebreaker with
UNH. PC & Maine both need help to finish 4th or higher even if they
take all possible points this weekend.

Here is the range of positions each team can finish and their
remaining games:

NU: 3-5. BC.
NH: 3-6. Maine.
PC: 3-7. BU; at BU.
UM: 3-7. at NH; at BC.
BC: 5-7. at NU; Maine.

Not as detailed as Bill Fenwick's ECAC playoff picture, but it is a
start and it is late. :-)

The only game that won't affect the standings is Lowell at Merrimack,
but since Merrimack could end up playing at Lowell if Maine is dropped
to last or barred from the tourney, it is still a big game.
