There were a few interviews during Prime's coverage of the LSSU-Harvard game. First up was Selection Committee Chair Rick Comley. Nothing really new was mentioned that hadn't already been discussed here. The "Committee really has little input come selection time," noted Comley. He reminded that each conference chooses to send its tournament not regular season champion. He also noted that the other 4 criteria (head to head, last 20, etc) are only brought into play when the RPI difference between the teams was less than .01, I believe (but don't quote me). Later, they interviwed Phil Buttafuoco, ass't director of championships for the NCAA. He said that in January, the NCAA passed legislation concerning minimum nuymber of teams to hold a championship. He said that Division II would need to have 40 teams come 1995, in order to continue holding a championship. There are only about 13 or 14 Division II teams. Just a reminder, the 1995 Regionals will be held at the Centrum in Worcester and teh Dane County Fairgrounds in Madison. The championships will be at the Civic Center in providence. *************************************************************************** Bri Farenell Clarkson '95 [log in to unmask] Glens Falls High '91 AHL and NCAA contact for rec.sport.hockey Go Erin Whitten (GFH '89)!
