Clarkson was one of the non-bye teams that made the final four in '92.
We had to beat the defending champion, Wisconsin, in their building,
the then ranked #1, Lake State, in their building and then go on. Our
guys had no legs in the semi-final. Reaching the final four is no
evidence that the present system is fair. Young men in their late
teens and early twenties have immense recuperative powers, but the
rigors of hockey eventually catch up with them. It is almost
self-evident that, in a sport as exhausting as hockey, fair competition
requires that all teams play the same number of games in the
tournament.

Let's all push for a sixteen team tournament!
