From the Star Tribune this morning, in Sid Hartman's column (all Scud disclaimers apply!): Bad news first: Darby Hendrickson, who left the Gophers to play with the U.S. Olympic hockey team this season, has signed a three-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He will be paid $1 million if he stays with the Maple Leafs and less if he plays in the minor leagues. Good news: Craig Johnson, another former Gopher, has turned down a final offer from the St Louis Blues and will play for Lou Nanne's U.S.National team this spring. Johnson, who has another year of college eligibility remaining, plans to return to school to get his degree. Hopefully, Craig will be back with the Gophers next year! Darby, we hardly knew ya!! -Carol Carol S. White BITNET: c-whit@uminn1 University of Minnesota internet:[log in to unmask] Office of the Registrar (612) 625-8517 GO Gophers!!!
