Well for all you Maine Black Bear fans who just snapped off the light
and were ready to go into an early hibernation with thoughts of "wait
till next year on your mind". You just might be wondering, what's
        that glow in the corner?

According to an article in the Bangor Daily News, Rick Comley
chairperson of the NCAA Hockey Tournament committee, and head coach
of Northern Michigan U., has been informed by the NCAA that because
Patrice Tardif was reinstated the 21 forfeits do not count as losses!

According to Comley based on the committee's recommendation Maine will
be either 17-15-4 or 14-18-4 depending on how they wish to look at the
        Jeff Tory issue.

The net result is that Maine, 'believe it or not', could be one of the
23 or 24 teams being looked at for the final 12! (Well that oughta
get some folks dander up, or dancing in the streets, depending on
        your fence post.)

The committee also has a clause that say they can evaluate the
eligibility and availability of student-athletes. So Maine getting
Peter and Chris Ferraro back could make them more attractive then
some teams with better records... Thought being Maine is stronger
        with these guys back.

But! Before Coach Walsh should chase down players for practice
there's one down side... The members of the committee who will
decide Maine new-found-hope are St. Lawrence coach Joe Marsh,
Bowling Green athletic director Jack Gregory and....BU coach
Jack Parker. I just can't picture Coach Parker doing UMO any
favors. So lay back down Black Bear fans and hope when you wake-up
the whole season was just a bad dream... then again you better hope
the fire alarm is working, because that glow just might become a
        fire!
