Really, it would help if I would read the newspaper that employs me on my days off. The Huntsville team Russell Jaslow heard was Huntsville of the East Coast Hockey League. Don't have details, but according to a game report in the (obligatory plug for employer) Daily Press of Newport News, Va. on Tuesday's Huntsville-Hampton Roads game. ``... Huntsville was as short-handed as Hampton Roads because three Blast players were suspended for Saturday's incident in Greensboro when they climbed into the stands to fight with fans. On Tuesday night, both teams dressed just 12 skaters instead of the usual 15.'' Hampton Roads had a post-game row in its game Saturday night over whether or not a last-second goal counted. One of those suspended, to get the obligatory college hockey reference in, was a guy named Shawn Wheeler. Perhaps someone in Wisconsin can help me, but I think he played at Wisconsin-Stevens Point several years ago. He's 27 and was one of the speakers at a high school awards banquet my paper had a week ago. His tale of being a black hockey player away from home getting his education was very interesting and very well-received. I enjoyed listening to him, but he was seated at the opposte end of the head table from where I was, so I didn't get a chance to find out for sure which school he attended. |--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--| | Lynn Burke Newport News, Va. | | [log in to unmask] -- mail still shows [log in to unmask] | |--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|
