UNH moved into a fourth place tie with Providence in Hockey East
with an impressive 6-3 win over Lowell at Snively Arena. The Wildcats
took a 2-0 lead after one on a pair of goals by toughguy defenseman Scott
Malone.
UMass-Lowell cut it to one on a Norm Bazin marker, but UNH
erupted for four goals, three in a 3:31 span, to take in insurmountable
6-1 lead. UMass-Lowell coach Bruce Crowder pulled netminder Dwayne Roloson
following the fifth UNH goal.
The Chiefs scored twice in the final period, but the outcome had
been decided at that point. Both teams meet at Lowell tonight.
