Clarkson stopped UVM in front of a typically racuous Gutterson Fieldhouse
crowd, 4-2, tonight.

Steve Palmer got Clarkson off to a 2-0 lead with a power play tally on
, off a nice pass and later on a shorthanded goal off a superb individual
effort. Clarkson seemed to be in good shape leading 2-0 after two and
having quieted the Gutterson crowd but Dom Ducharme got the faithful back
into the game with his powerplay tally. UVM kept up the pressure and
tied it a few minutes later.

Clarkson's big break came with about 7:00 left in the game when a UVM
player took a penalty. After a minute of good Clarkson pressure,
UVM took another penalty. Brian Mueller took a pass from Palmer and
blasted it past UVM goalie Tim Thomas for a 3-2 Clarkson lead. The
Catamounts put good pressure on Clarkson netminder Jason Currie alte
in the game. A puck trickled between Currie's pads but and lay in
the crease but Palmer beat Martin St Louis (?) to the puck and iced
it. Adam Wiesel added an empty netter late in the game for the final
margin of victory.

Both goalies played very well in the game making several clutch saves.
