Perhaps, *if* the situation arose, the most "fair" thing to do would be to treat
Maine like its losses were not "genuine" Hockey East losses - and treat their
playoff placement like it will be treated for Alaska-Fairbanks in the CCHA.
(Is that right?)
 
With Maine in a sort of playoff "limbo," each team in succession may make
a choice - #1 to face #7 or Maine, #2 to face #6 or Maine, etc; until #4 is
stuck with them.  Could this sort of thing be considered under the circumstances?
