Bill Neifert says, > [Maine's forfeiture of points ...] It >would place BU in the unenviable position of playing a tough Maine team >(with the Ferarros and possibly Kariya) in the first round of the Hockey East >playoffs. Perhaps, *if* the situation arose, the most "fair" thing to do would be to treat Maine like its losses were not "genuine" Hockey East losses - and treat their playoff placement like it will be treated for Alaska-Fairbanks in the CCHA. (Is that right?) With Maine in a sort of playoff "limbo," each team in succession may make a choice - #1 to face #7 or Maine, #2 to face #6 or Maine, etc; until #4 is stuck with them. Could this sort of thing be considered under the circumstances? Ross ps. Go RPI!
