After its fourth four-point weekend this season, Brown is holding on to sole possession of the second spot in the ECAC standings (only two points behind nationally-ranked and Beanpot finalist Harvard). After a relatively easy win against Cornell on Friday evening, Brown played a strong game against a good Colgate team on Saturday night. The Brown attack was led by Chris Kaban, Mike Flynn and unheralded Steve Kathol (one goal, two assists). Sophomore Brian Jardine (six points for the weekend) continues to impress. And after a couple of rough starts (against Lowell and Yale), goaltender Geoff Finch (10-4-2; 9-2-2 in the ECAC) seems to have regained his early season form. The game against Colgate was typical of Brown when Brown is playing well: efficient, hard-nosed around the net, although lacking in style and flair. (It appears that Brown has decided to leave style and flair to Steve Martins and Nancy Kerrigan.)
