well, the georgia tech club hockey team continues to struggle. their power play was horrendous as they dropped two this weekend to scha rival kentucky. the yellow jackets gave up numerous 2-on-1's and several short-handed goals this weekend, as they saw their scha playoff hopes slip even further away. friday (at lexington) the yellow jackets fell behind 7-1 at the end of the second period, but roared out of the locker room to score 5 straight goals in 9 minutes to pull within one. the kentucky coach called for a time out, and the kentucky coldcats responded by scoring the next three goals to pull out a 10-6 victory in front of the home crowd. saturday (at louisville) the two teams played before the icehawks to avoid playing another midnight game. both teams looked much slower than friday night, but the coldcats were able to hold off tech to take a 5-2 victory. from an obviously biased point of view, the officiating seemed to favor kentucky, but a good team wins despite the officiating, and tech didn't. season outlook: tech needs to win their remaining conference games against emory university, university of georgia, and georgia state university. in addition, the jackets need to beat emory by at least three goals to ensure a playoff berth. just for the scha novice, the top four teams make the playoffs. scott quakkelaar georgia tech yellow jackets
