FYI...TSN (Canada's version of ESPN) was in Grand Forks two weeks ago and did
a story that aired recently on the UND hockey program. It basically focused on
the long line of NHL players from this school. The had game footage from our
series that weekend against Northern Michigan, as well as interviews with Gino,
Brad Bombardir (one of the Sioux defensemen) and former Sioux Dixon Ward (
(traded recently to L.A.). It was nice publicity, the feature running for a
minute and a half or so.

Also, this past November, CBC's "The Fifth Estate" (a 60 Minutes-type show) did
a special called "Promises of Glory", which chronicled four Canadian 16-year
olds who were deciding what path to take at that point in their hockey careers.
All four were drafted into the OHL draft, but none really amounted to much (at
least in their first year). The show also interviewed Steve Guolla of Michigan
State and sort of showcased Michigan State as an example of what an attractive
option U.S. college hockey is. Interestingly, the show was not very
complimentary of the major junior route. Anyway, I know there are copies of
this floating around college hockey, so maybe you can get your hands on one.
