that's how to describe the northerm mich win over CC this evening.
Northern scored within the first minute of each period en route to an
8-1 victory that wasn't as close as the score indicated. The tigers
had a bad night on offense as they couldn't get anything to click.
The missed a point blank power play shot early in the first that would
have tied the game at 1, and their night went downhill from there.
The tigers gave up many quasi breaks and several 2 on 1 opportunities.

They'll have to do something about their defense having given up over
25 goals in their last 3 games, and next week will be especially
difficult as the venture up to houghton for winter carnival.

With about 9 minutes left in the game, a cc player was pushed into the
northern goalie. the goalie wasn't aware of the push and took strong
exception to the contact leading to what i felt was a brawl, but there
were only 2 disqualifications and lots of double minors, and CC ended
up with a 4 minute power play.

Well, next weeks hockey fix must come on the tube as both CC and Air
Force are on the road. Actually, our (UCCS) basketball teams have a
double header friday, and the women play Air Force saturday, so
perhaps i'll watch that.
