DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- Boston University goaltender Derek Herlofsky made
Steve Thornton's second-period goal stand up as the Terriers beat New Hampshire
2-1 on Saturday.
Herlofsky, who made 33 saves, stopped 12 New Hampshire shots in the final
period as Boston University (16-5, 10-3 Hockey East) beat the Wildcats
(15-7-1, 6-6-1) for the second time in as many days.
Thornton's game-winner came at 9:26 on a slap shot from the point.
BU took a 1-0 lead at 2:56 of the second period when Mike Grier flipped a
rebound past UNH goalie Mike Heinke, who made 30 saves. The Wildcats tied it
two minutes later on a power play goal by Glenn Stewart.
The victory kept BU in first place in Hockey East.
