Richard Hungerford's recent posting on ECAC women's stats n' stuff got me
curious. I was looking at the goalies stats.

It seems to me the shots on goal are really low. Is this something
inherent in women's hockey? Is it due to the fact they only play 45 minute
games?

I'm the goalie on the University of Pennsylvania women's club team. I
typically see 40+ shots a game. (We suck, I know). In case you're
wondering, I don't let that many in, either (sorry, coach hasn't produced
my stats, but by my calculations, my GA avg. is about 3.5).

Can someone fill me in? I don't get to watch better women's hockey (I'm
too busy ducking). Thanks!
