Sorry this is so late...here's a brief review of Penn State's performance at the Chicago Classic Tournament this past weekend: Friday: #6 PENN STATE 6, #2 Illinois 2 - Penn State started strong, leading 4-1 after the first, and pretty much coasted to the victory. Saturday: #6 PENN STATE 10, #4 Iowa State 3 - Again, the Icers were up 4-1 after one, and then added four more in the second to lead 8-1 after two. Sunday: #1 North Dakota State 7, #6 PENN STATE 5 - Unfortunately, the Icers got out to a slow start, and found themselves behind 3-0 after the first, and 5-1 midway through the second. But then Penn State made a ferocious comeback, and had closed to 5-4 midway through the third. However, the official then called a questionable penalty on the Icers, and the Bison scored on the ensuing power play. NDSU would add an empty netter later on, but strangely enough the Icers would close out the scoring with :37 left in the third (the Icers just wouldn't give up and were searching for the miracle comeback, but it seems that the Sports Gods would only grant one Penn State team a miracle last weekend). The Icers are now 9-2-0 on the season. Things don't get any easier for PSU, as they return home to the "Icerdome" for two games again #3 Eastern Michigan this weekend... ***************************************************************************** * Jeremy Hall [log in to unmask] Penn State Univ. * * * * CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS: 1993 ECAC CHAMPIONS * * * * PENN STATE ICERS: * * 1992-93 ATLANTIC LEAGUE REGULAR SEASON & TOURNAMENT CHAMPS * * * * LET'S GO TECH!!!!
