Clarkson battled back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the Princeton Tigers, 3-3 in Princeton's Baker Rink. All 6 of Clarkson's games have been decided by a goal or less. Princeton dominated the first period but stellar goaltending by Clarkson's Jason Currie allowed only one Princeton goal in the period, a power play tally. The Tigers outshot the Knights, 12-4. The Tigers made it 2-0 when Kelly for PU scored a goal only two sec after a PU PP expired and beat a screened Currie. Princeton took a 3-0 lead on a 3-on-2 breakaway for the Tigers. Currie made the first two saves but the defense failed to clear the rebound (how often have we heard that this year?) and the Tigers took a commanding 3-0 lead, or so it seemed. With only :33 left in the 2nd, an Ed Henrich shot went wide of PU goalie James Konte but Jean-Francois Houle put a wraparound past Konte for a 3-1 lead and a little momentum. Princeton leads the shot total 27-13 after 2. Clarkson uses the Houle goal as inspiration and owns the third period. On a CU powerplay, Marko Tuomainen blasted a long shot from the blueline sticked aside by Konte but Steve Palmer put in the rebound for the Knights, 7 min into the 3rd. Palmer scored his 2nd PPG of the game when he one-timed a JF Houle centering pass past Konte to tie the game. Dave Seitz took an obvious hooking penalty a little over 1 minute into OT but Currie held firm. Both Currie and Konte played very well. Currie held off the Tigers, when they were up 3-0, and had an extended 5-on-3. Konte stopped a pair of breakaways in the third.
