Hi all! Didn't get around to posting in over a week because the end of this block has just been insane (finishing up labs, a presentation and a final), but now that I'm on vacation I have a little time. :) I enjoyed going to both the Air Force games, and both teams usually played well. Some new CC players who hadn't had any ice time so far this year got to play in this series, including a new freshman goalie, Judd Lambert, who will be #2 behind Ryan Bach. I thought he looked pretty good for his first collegiate game (he played the entire game Sat). CC was still playing sloppy at times, though, not a good habit to get into considering that tonight's and tomorrow's games are at Wisconsin and may determine who still has first place after the weekend. It was good talking to Charlie at both games and finally getting to meet someone from the list. The following message that I'm forwarding was something I found in my mailbox this morning from AD Max Taylor, which was sent to everyone on campus. Apparently the NC$$ is still investigating the possible violations that were committed by former head coach Brad Buetow. Also, I noticed while briefly glancing through the paper yesterday that there was some meeting last night to determine if the city would be willing to help pay for the proposed new arena/convention center. Don't know the results, though, as I came home yesterday and won't be back down to the Springs til sometime Sunday. Begin forwarded message ----------------------- From: CCNODE::MTAYLOR 19-NOV-1993 10:58:51.00 To: @M$ALL CC: Subj: NCAA INQUIRY I will be releasing the following statement to the press later today and wanted the campus community to have an advance copy. If you have any questions, please call me at x6475. Colorado College has been notified by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) that its inquiry into possible NCAA violations related to the men's varsity hockey program is continuing. The allegations focus on former head hockey coach Brad Buetow and result from Mr. Buetow's recruiting of a prospective student in January 1993. Colorado College is cooperating fully with the ongoing inquiry and is in the process of providing confidential information to the NCAA at the association's request. In early 1993 the College took the initiative in reporting the suspected violations to the NCAA following it own internal investigation. This internal review resulted in the resignation of Brad Buetow in February of this year. More information will be provided by college officials at the conclusion of the inquiry. End forwarded message --------------------- Good luck to the Tigers in Madison... may they still be holding first place at the end of the weekend!
