The win at Ferris, coupled with the Lakers' loss, puts BG in sole possession of first place in the league (for the evening). BG led 2-0 after 1 period, but just barely. The red light never came on for the Holzinger goal (just the blue, end-of-period light) but the elder Shegos brother said the puck went in before the buzzer sounded. Holzinger almost made it 4-0 in the 2nd with two quality short-handed chances, but Ferris came back with 2 quick tallies to put the scare into the Falcons. But BG had a pair of lightening strikes up their own sleeves and coasted to a 6-2 win. Freshman phenom Bob Petrie won again and looked good. Seth Appert saw his first action of the season in relief of FSU starter Craig Lisko. Michigan and BG will probably swap tapes from their Friday night wins as they pass on the highway between LSSU and FSU. Each team travels to the other site for Saturday's game. Last year, Miami, UIC, OSU and UND made the terrible trek up north but could manage only 2 ties. Keith PS The other 2 finals I have so far are Michigan 4-2 over LSSU and MSU 3-0 over Notre Dame. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Bowling Green (5-0-1; 4-0-1) at Ferris State (1-5-0; 1-3-0) Friday, November 5th, 1993 BG 2 4 0 6 FS 0 2 0 2 Scoring 1-BG Herman 2 (Perrault, Johnson) 2:05 1-BG Holzinger 4 (Clark, Johnson) 19:59 2-BG Glantz 3 (Helbing) 5:30 2-FS Gruden 2 (Christian, Burnham) 5x4 8:03 2-FS Duff 4 (McIntyre, Parrish) 8:57 2-BG Clark 2 (Carper, Reirden) 5x4 11:01 2-BG Lune 2 (unassisted) 11:15 2-BG Fry 2 (Carper, maybe Petrie) 17:50 Goalie Saves Minutes/GA Petrie, BG 11 5 13 29 60:00/2 Lisko, FS 8 16 x 24 40:00/6 Appert, FS x x 8 8 20:00/0 Penalties: BG 6/12 FS 6/12 Power Plays: BG 1/5 FS 1/5 Refs: Shegos brothers Line: Thompson Att: 1823 Time: 2:04 -=-=-=-=-=-=
