Aaron White writes regarding college hockey players leaving school for the
minor leagues:

I appreciate his frustration, and as an educator I wish every student-athlete
would stay in school and complete a degree.  However, reality intrudes:  some
young men go to college, not to get an education, but to play hockey.  School
is distinctly secondary (or less).  For these, leaving college for a "career"
in the minors is a logical and not necessarily an unreasonable decision.
Whether it's the wisest decision is another matter...
