Got some more info on Jack Kelley from the 1992-93 BU media guide. Kelley coached ten years at BU, from 1962-63 through 1971-72. His teams posted a combined mark of 204-78-8 in 290 games. After two sub-.500 years, BU finished over .500 during each of Kelley's next eight years, including six 20+ win seasons. BU's best marks came during his last two years, 28-2-1 in 1970-71 and 26-4-1 in 1971-72, winning the NC$$ title in each year. The Terriers made two other NC$$ appearances during Kelley's tenure, finishing fourth in 1965-66 and second in 1966-67. They also made 8 ECAC tourney appearances from 1964-72, winning one title in 1972. The Terriers brought home six Beanpots for Kelley, including three straight from 1966-68 and again from 1970-72. Finally, Kelley coached 13 All-Americas, including two-time winners Herb Wakabayashi, Tom Ross, and Bob Brown. BTW, as the Terriers won 29 games during 1992-93, chances are they will win their 1000th game sometime in 1993-94. They've posted 983 wins so far. --- Mike Machnik [log in to unmask] [log in to unmask] Color Voice of the Merrimack Warriors *HMN* 11/13/93 (All opinions expressed above are strictly those of the poster.)
