The Hockey East Academic Honor Roll was announced, but I only have the details on Merrimack from today's paper. 9 Warriors were named, the most of any HE team. Merrimack has placed 22 players on the HEAHR in its four years of league play. Also, for the third straight year, a Warrior posted the highest GPA of any HE player. Quentin Fendelet, a junior in 1992-93, had a 3.81 GPA in accounting. This is the second straight year Fendelet has achieved that honor. He entered Merrimack as a sophomore in 1991-92. Senior Guy Ragault was the league GPA leader in 1990-91, the first year such an honor was bestowed. The nine named are (with 92-93 year, major, and GPA): Matt Adams, so, psychology, 3.21 Mark Cornforth, so, accounting, 3.41 Quentin Fendelet, jr, accounting, 3.81 Mark Goble, fr, accounting, 3.48 Don MacLeod, sr, finance, 3.34 Wayde McMillan, sr, accounting, 3.12 Matt Poska, jr, history, 3.42 Guy Ragault, sr, electrical engineering, 3.39 Alex Weinrich, sr, marketing, 3.26 Goble was also named to the HE All-Rookie Team. Ragault graduated having made the HEAHR each of his four years. McMillan, who entered as a sophomore playing-wise in 1990-91, made it each of his three years and last I heard, plans to finish his degree in 93-94 although his eligibility has been used up. To be eligible for the HEAHR, a player must post a 3.00 GPA in each of the two semesters during the season. --- Mike Machnik [log in to unmask] Color Voice of the Merrimack Warriors alternate address days: [log in to unmask] *HMN* 11/13/93 (Any opinions expressed above are strictly those of the poster.)
