The Detroit Red Wings obtained the rights to graduating North Dakota
center Greg Johnson and future considerations from the Philadelphia
Flyers in exchange for former Michigan State right wing Jim Cummins
and the Flyers 4th round draft pick in 1993 (obtained by Detroit in
last year's Brent Fedyk trade). Johnson finished second in the 1993
Hobey Baker Award voting to Maine's Paul Kariya.

The Red Wings are really making some good moves. Last week they traded
a Falcon for a Wolverine and now they dump a Spartan in favor of a
Fighting Soup. :-)
