Clarkson's 2-1 loss to Minnesota made Clarkson 0-7 this year in 1 goal games. They did go 7-0 in 2 goal games (with about half of them being 1 goal plus an empty netter). For those who might have doubted my choice of UM goalie tom newman as first star: Clarkson had 24 shots on goal in the 2nd period, Newman had 24 saves in the middle frame. Minnesota held Clarkson to its second lowest output of the year. The only worse offensive showing for the Knights was a 6-0 loss at Maine. This was the 2nd straight year the Knights lost to the WCHA Tournament Champion in the first round. This was the 2nd straight year that the ECAC did not win an NC$$ tournament game. Although I picked LSSU to win from the start, I will probably be rooting for BU. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Bri Farenell [log in to unmask] + + AHL and ECAC contact for rec.sport.hockey Go USA Hockey! + + Adirondack Red Wings, Calder Cup Champs: '81 '86 '89 '92 + + Clarkson Hockey, ECAC Tournament Champs: '66 '91 '93 + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Thanks to: Guy Sanderson, Mikko Tavi, Dave Green, Steve Dubinsky. + + Martin dOrsonnens, 1991 ECAC Tourn.
