The Boston Globe had a note today that UMass would be joining Hockey East
for the 1994-95 season, only the second year into its program and at least
a year ahead of schedule.  This was unofficial, however, but an official
announcement was said to be forthcoming shortly.  Merrimack is slated
to open its 1993-94 season against UMass on 10/23/93.
