NOTES
With his goal and three assists, Hugo Belanger became the third
all-time leading scorer in Clarkson history. Jason Currie made his
first start in over a month and his first win since opening night.

WRAPUP
Clarkson opened up the scoring with only 5 minutes left in the first
when Marko Tuomainen fired a blast by Union goalie Luigi Villa. It appeared
that Union would have a moral victory going into the lockerroom being
down only 1-0 until Todd marchant and Hugo Belanger dcored twice in
the last 31 seconds of the 1st period to give Clarkson a 3-0 lead. Patrice
Robitaille scored a powerplay goal early in the second to make it 4-0 but
Union played relatively well for the first two periods. But Clarkson opened
up the floodgates when Steve Dubinsky scored 13 secods into the third.
Ten minutes later defenseman Mikko Tavi fired a blast by Villa and
defensive forward Dave Green beat Villa a few minutes later. With 3+
miuntes left, Todd Marchant and Marko Tuomainen racked up their 5th
point of the game as Tuomainen fed marchant who beat Villa. Brian Mueller
capped off the sc oring with a man-up tally with just 1:30 left.

For the second straight game, Clarkson played 60 minutes of hockey. The
defense was solid and prevented many good shots on Currie. Union was
just outplayed. They just didn't have the depth to match Clarkson. Union
should be a good team in a few years... although I don't know if head
coach Bruce Delventhal is willing to wait that long.

Clarkson hosts Yale and Princeton next weekend. The Knights move into
a tie for fifth place with St Lawrence (and perhaps UVM) only one point
behind Brown. The Knights visit Brown in the season finale.
