The officials thought the same as i did last night, that there might be some problems after friday's game, so they decided to establish control early in the game.........so............ after 28 seconds we had 3 penalties and a power play goal by Denver before anyone got to their seats! Saturday nights game was fast paced and enjoyable to watch, Coach Mancini thought the team needed a spark, so he pulled Ram after the first period and inserted Scott Vettraino, who did just that with excellent saves for 2 periods. in all, the huskie goaltenders made 40 saves on the night. after the Huskies took a 3-2 lead, they kept the pace up, giving Denver no chance to come back. for the last 1:20 of the game, the Huskies (to a standing ovation) kept the Pioneers bottled up in their own zone with excellent forechecking by Storm, Label, Peca, Young and company. The Huskies sweep Denver! and earn 4 big WCHA points. and now have some momentum heading into the Great Lakes Invitational, They'll need it, as they face Michigan in the first round on saturday. A reminder, both semi final games, and the final game of the GLI will be carried live by PASS. sta MTU vs MICH at 5:00 PM and NMU vs MSU 8:00 PM Now back out to blow and plow the continuous lake snow were getting! ;-) Bob
