Well, tonight marked my first night on the bench, as I was a Student
Athletic Trainer for Northeastern. Aside from learning a few new words
from the team, I saw a GREAT hockey game. Northeastern's Shields(?)
scored first. Followed by NU's Dino Grossi. With 8 seconds left in the
game, and NU up by two, BU's Mike Bavis scored. BU frantically tried to
tie it up, but just couldn't get the puck close enough in those final
few seconds.

Both teams played real well. Sharp passing, clean checks (most of 'em),
and hard shots marked the evening for both teams. Both teams had ample
chances to score, but the goalie played great. IMO, NU dumped the puck
too often, and couldn't clear it when they really needed to, but they
made up for that in other areas.

Onr thing that I've noticed is that Ben Smith's kids never get called
for the new faceoff violation. Seeing as Ben was the force behind the
new rule, I guess it's understandable. I wouldn't want my kids penalized
for a rule that I help get passed!

PS For those guys at Maine; if you want your bench towels back, they
are at Northeastern :-)
