Mike,I can only hope that Merrimack plays better this evening than they did last night. I like to watch us win,but by 13 goals?? It does get a little out of hand. I think Merrimack will play a lot better tonight,as Providence did after the 9-3 blowout we gave them opening night. I'll just provide a few tidbits, sine there have already been 2 posts about the game. Eric Fenton and Kent Salfi both notched hat tricks, while Chris Ferraro added two more, leading Maine to a 14-1 win over the Merrimack Warriors. Merrimack's lone goal came on a powerplay in the third period. Maine has knot given up an even-strength goal for 9 periods, dating back to the October 30 game vs The University of New Brunswick. Also,Maine has dominated Special Teams. The Powerplay is always superb(2 PPG last night)but this season, the penalty kill is remarkable. Maine has surrendered 12 goals in 6 games, with 6 of those powerplay. goals. However,Maine has scored 9 Shorthanded goals, and has totally controlled special teams situations. The list of Maine players scoring their first career goals gained a new member last night,as Michel Latendresse scored a goal, and added 2 assists (all in the first period). The 3 stars of the Game were : Eric Fenton (3-1-4) Kent Salfi (3-0-3) Paul Kariya (1-2-3) Tonight's game is set for 7PM. John Forsyth UMaine Class of 199? The opinions above are mine. Some will agree. Many will disagree. Then again, some people are wise, while many are fools. Think about it.
