Damp Greetings from the Chesapeake !! As one of many here on HOCKEY-L who I'm sure take great delight in Mike's "announcement" this afternoon, and who in turn wish nothing but the best for Mike and Heather, I thought I'd share a snippet of conversation from a flurry of messages 'twixt Mike and I before the NC$$ Championships last Spring in Albany. I'd mentioned that several of us were planning to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame on Friday's off-day between games, and Mike replied: >Date: Thu, 27 Feb 1992 00:47:51 EST >From: Mike Machnik <[log in to unmask]> >To: [log in to unmask] >Have you been to the Baseball HoF? It's great - I went there almost 3 years >ago with my now ex-girlfriend; takes you all day to see it, that is, to see >it *right* ... I had been thinking of seeing if she wanted to go to the games >in Albany, but seeing as how she is now engaged (ouch) I don't think that >would be a good idea...too bad about that (engagement), I have yet to meet >anyone else like her in any of my 25 years, and I'm starting to wonder if >there *is* anyone like her... Well, I guess we all know the answer to *THAT* question :-) :-) :-) Congratulations to Mike and Heather !! But gosh - planning your wedding in the middle of the season ?!? I'd have thought this was an outright lock for a traditional off-season June betrothal :-) Next thing you know they'll have "other plans" on Beanpot nights (*grin*) .... Cheers - Jim
