The priority order is: > 1) Badger season ticket holders who buy tickets for both events, > 2) Milwaukee Admirals (IHL) season ticket holders who buy tickets for both, > 3) Previous Showdown ticket holders who buy tickets for both, > 4) The general public who buy tickets for both [and last - certainly least], > 5) Those who buy tickets for one of the two events. > Your three options to buy your tickets are: > 3) Buy tickets for the Final Four only [$60 for each ticket package]. > NOTE: IF YOU CHOOSE OPTION #3 YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BE SEATED HIGH IN THE > UPPER BALCONY OF THE BRADLEY CENTER." Um, is this part of what the Bradley Center said or is this a prediction by someone? > Well isn't that special !! What chance do I - a college *HOCKEY* fan (as > opposed to a *Wisconsin Hockey* fan) - have at obtaining half-decent tix > to the 1993 Phinal Phour ?!? ... > Many of us who had such a good time in Albany were planning on > attending in 1993 irrespective of the participants (as we had for previous > Phinal Phours in Minneapolis, Lake Placid and Providence), but we hadn't > expected to encounter such hubris from the 1993 Organizing Committee that > we'd be forced to purchase tix for the Badger Showdown too to avoid sitting > in Green Bay to watch the games. I guess the Good Burghers of Milwaukee > have found ONE way to make sure they raise the upfront $$$ the NC$$ requires > of the host city. My one word comment from Solomons - BOOOOOO !!!!! I can not defend their policy. However, a couple of points: 1. They are very worried about the NC$$ guarantee. If you recall, there was a bit of a hassle earlier this year about signing the contract immediatly.... when none of the other hosts have had to sign a contract until AFTER they had sold enough tickets to meet the guarantee. My guess is that this is not really attempt at setting priorities so much as enticing people on their mailing list to buy now. 2. There are very few (some would say none, but I can't say that for sure) *BAD* seats for a hockey game at the Bradley Center. Of course, upper deck seats are further away than lower seats, and therefore not as "good" (usually -- some people like them). 3. There is probably a lot of overlap between the potential members of groups 1 and 3 -- Badger Season ticket holders and previous Showdown ticket purchasers. I don't know about group 2. I don't think it will be a huge problem if you order NC$$ tickets before the Badger showdown (presumably "buy both" means buy both at the same time, so those who only by Badger Showdown tickets can't then claim the be group 3....). I will ask some people at the Athletic Department what they know about this, and see if they have any real or projected numbers. 4. I strongly suggesst you write a letter to the Bradley Center complaining about the policy, as (in your words) a "College *HOCKEY* fan" who will go regardless of who is in the tournament. Perhaps they can put "out of state" purchasers on the top of the list too. And, I hope that you do attend the tournament. Several people from the list who know Milwaukee better than I do have already volunteered to organize hockey-l events, and I will make sure that we have network access... --david
