As long as we're on the subject of the Gopher recruits, here's a report
from the "Minnesota Scene" section of today's (4/13/92) Star Tribune:

Hockey Stars from State Win Tourney

Goalie Jeff Moen of Roseville made 25 saves as Team Minnesota, an all-star
squad of high school seniors, beat Michigan 6-3 Sunday to win the Chicago
Showcase all-star tournament in SKokie, Ill. Earlier, Minnesota defeated
New Hampshire 6-1 in the semifinals. Center Brian Bonin of White Bear Lake,
the tournament MVP, had an goal and two assists in the final.

end of quoted stuff.
Moen and Bonin are both Gopher signees. The St. Paul paper, which I don't
have with me, said that the Minnesota team gave up only 13 goals in 6
games (if I recall correctly) in the tournament, and that Moen split
the goal-tending duties with Powell of Hill-Murray.
