Well, first of all, Congratulations to Maine's SCOTT PELLERIN, 1992 Hobey Baker
award winner. I must say that of all of the candidates that I saw play, only
Felsner and Madeley even came close to Pellerin in deserving the award.

Michigan State - Lake Superior State:
A very boring game IMO, LSSU will be in every game they play if
Madeley plays the way he did. Michigan State seemed to use the same game plan
as last week against Maine, however the ice surface being a little wider may
have hurt them, and when Lake Superior woke up half-way through the third period
the game was essentially over. Gilmore was a little shakier in nets fro MSU,
certainly a far cry from his pewrformance against Maine. LSSU was the better
team as far as I could tell and
MSU seemed simply happy to be there.

Wisconsin - Michigan:
A much more exciting game to watch. Wisconsin's TEAM defense was again
the story, does anyone happen to have the blocked shots statistic for this game?
no doubt it would be very impressive on the UW side. Wisconsin also had some
very nice offensive plays. I was impressed by Felsner, but UW did a great job
in getting him off his game, there was always red in his face. Derksen, again,
did not impress me, many times his rebounds were shakey and he was down real
early. Luckily for him, the defense was amazing and it was virtually impossible
for UM to get any rebounds. However, in the other net, Shields was even worse,
Besides being BIG and having relatively good angles (when he could get there)
there is not much else to say about him. IMO, he is the worst skating goalie
I have seen at this level in a long time, and he very unsound technically.
Many times he simply fell over while trying to stop the puck. I must give him
credit however, for somehow managing to get himself in front of most of them.
In the long run, I can't see how Michigan did so well with him though his
balance and technical skills are at the least sub-standard.

Enough rambling onto Saturday evening 8:05 pm Eastern Time, Albany, New York.
This one is too close for me to call, I think Wisconsin would benefit from
a slower lower scoring game, because if it becomes a shootout, Madeley
definitely has an edge over Derksen. Madeley will keep LSSU in it, and
UW's defense will keep them in too, right down to the wire. See You at the
Knick...
