What can you say. Tonight was Babson's night from the beginning. Babson played great hockey and were able to get some breaks early on to break this game wide-open in the first period. Babson, which had lost to Bowdoin 4-3 on Friday night, came out and played well, and converted their opportunities. Bowdoin, on the other hand, had some opportunities to score in the first period but Babson goalie Mark Kuriyak was up to the challenge. (That's why he is one of the best in the league.) Rob Tobin had a big night for Babson, two goals and two assists, and many other opportunities for a hat trick. The only bright spot about this game for Bowdoin is that freshman center Charlie Gaffney broke the freshman record for points in a season with his two goals tonight. He finishes the season with 32 points (11-21-32), breaking the old freshman record set by Steve Thornton during the 1984-85 season.
