Sorry this is so late!

The Gophers had a hard time getting up for this game. After scoring two quick
goals in the first three minutes of the first period on Friday night, I was
prepared for a big blowout. Well CC got a grip on themselves and the Gophers
were taking some bad shots and missing passes. The Tigers made a game of it!
We did outpower the Tigers finally in the last period and clinched it with a
5-3 score to win. Now Saturday's contest was a little different...

Saturday night the Tigers showed their teeth and kept after the Gophers. Brad
(Buetow) was back to his incessantly old tricks of going for the last change,
calling a player over for last minute instructions, etc. Brad was also not a
happy coach, he complained about the officiating by referee Brian Ricci. The
Tigers received a bench minor for Brad's talking with a linesman during the
period break and the Tigers also were caught with too many men on the ice. A
series of silly mistakes cost CC the game NOT the referee. Ricci did an okay
job, he didn't do either team any favors. Lots of things were let go and it
could have gotten really ugly, but saner heads prevailed. The Gophers
staved off a final minute attack by the Tigers and got an empty net goal
to seal the win. Cory Laylin was the star of the game on Saturday getting
two goals. Larry Olimb got his 200th career point on an assist Saturday
 night.

 More news later today.
 promise.
