RPI defeated Clarkson last night on Craig Hamelin's OT goal.
I don't have the box score. IMO, this was the best that RPI
executed all year. Clarkson didn't seem to play that well
until they took command of the game in the middle of the
third period. They were down 3-1, scored two quick goals, and
had other chances to win the game. They also dominated OT and
had a clear breakaway in the first minute of OT. Neil Little played
very well for the Engineers in goal. Hamelin's goal was a slapshot
from just inside the blueline that was "a seeing eye dog" that appeared
to change direction about six times before flutering into the Clarkson
goal, well maybe not six times, but you get the point -- it was flukey.
In the RPI - Clarson battle for Rookie of the Year: In Potsdam, Clarkson
Candidate Todd Marchant scored the winner vs. RPI in Dec. (4-3 OT also);
So RPI rookie Hamelin evens the score with his OT tally.
