Union was never really in this game, as they were dominated for most of the game. The whole game was sloppy, and very rough. The referee really let things get out of hand, and he couldn't get control of the game late. The game was very sloppy early. Dartmouth took control with 2 quick goals in the first 5 minutes. Union got on the board midway through the period, but Dartmouth quickly answered to take a 3-1 lead. There were no penalties early, although the game was very rough. It was clear early that things would get out of hand. Dartmouth continued their domination of Union during the 2nd period, although they only scored one goal. After that goal, a 10-player fight erupted, resulting in 6 double-minor/misconduct penalties. The Big Green took only 22 seconds to score in the 3rd period. They went on to score 3 more times to take an 8-1 lead with 10 minutes left to play. Union finally woke up and scored twice, but it was way too late. There were more scuffles during the 3rd period, resulting in 3 more misconducts being handed out. Dartmouth improves to 2-13-1 in the ECAC to take over 11th place. They are in 11th place. Union falls to 1-14-1, last in the ECAC, and 2-17-1 overall. Things don't get any easier for the Dutchmen this weekend. They will be looking for the upset when they host St. Lawrence on Friday and Clarkson on Saturday. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Jim Teresco Union College | | [log in to unmask] Schenectady, NY 12308 | | [log in to unmask] Owner/GM - Amsterdam Ice-9 of the BBL | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
