Could someone give a brief overview of how the national championship tournament for Division I will be structured this year? I saw something earlier about an "East Regional." Maybe I was just out of it, or maybe my team's seeding made it moot to it and me, but I don't recall there being any "West Regional" last year. As I remember it the four top-seeded teams in the country got first round byes while the next 8 played off, best-of-3, on the rinks of the #5-#8. The survivors of that first round played best-of-3 series on the ice of the top 4. Winners all went to the finals in St. Paul. Am I leaving something out? Also (I asked this earlier but no one responded), is the top-ranked Independent automatically invited to the tournament? I've noticed reference to an Independents tournament this year. Was there one last year? I presume its winner goes to the NCAA--oops, NC$$. *********************************** * Steve Christopher, NMU * * "Go 'Cats!''Going for two in '92!" * * [log in to unmask] * ***********************************
